Masterpiece

Once a clean slate and plain as sand
Nothing unique, just the same generic brand
You were nothing among a thousand
Always so plain never grand

But then you entered life and learned
You lost much and little you earned
Your soul cooked till it was burned
All abandoned you even those you yearned

A slice here, a gouge there
Slowly life became too much to bear
Once a bright star now you're losing your flare
Once a believer now it's rare to see you at prayer

But do not despair, there will be peace
The suffer will halt, it shall cease
Then you will be a beautiful masterpiece
Just before your soul is released
